Camera obscura means dark room, and its a way to project what ever is outside, inside the room. It starts off with a little hole in the wall, and the light that shines through will be flipped upside down and backwards onto the opposite wall from the hole. The image gives you a view of the surroundings outside. It started the world of photography when people used the obscura to draw the image they see onto another surface or whatever the artist used to sketch on. Then later on a lens was used to focus the light of the obscura but the image wouldn't be flipped upside down or backwards.
I took this photo at the patch in school, I sat on the logs with the open field and trees in the background. It was taken on a gloomy morning, so what I did was I used Pixlr to first brighten up the photo because it was a little dark. Next what I did was decided to use the double exposure effect and added a photo that would describe me. I had a little trouble trying to find a photo that would work with the original photo. Then I thought to myself why not use a picture that makes me who I am, makes me happy, keeps me going in life. The photo I used was a photo taken from when my family came to visit from Seattle.
I get all my strength, energy, craziness, silly side and happiness from my family. They are the ones that keep me going, help me strive for what I want in the future. They influence me to try many things to see which one will work for me. Everyone in my family may have different experiences growing up, and they each tell me to try and not make the mistakes that they’ve made before. Each cousin had their story to tell and I enjoy listening to them over and over, or even some new stories they have to tell. Family is everything to me, I would use a photo with the whole family but that would be too many people that it will cover up my self portrait and just be a family photo. |
